FR: This is how you pass a shittest!

Today I had an interesting emailconversation with a girl. I wanted to share it with you guys, because it shows you how easy it is to pass a shittest as long as you understand the basic dynamics. I hope you can learn something from it.

It's a girl that I dated for a short time about six months ago. It never resulted in a lay. Last week she called me, and it was the first time I talked to her in six months.

I gave her the opposite from what she's expecting. Instead of getting jealous, I tried to help her date the other guy. I make it worse by calling him Mr Right, because there is no way the guy could live up to the image she has in her mind of her ideal Mr Right, which automatically disqualifies him. And because I don't get jealous, she get's insecure, because she thinks I'm not attracted to her.

She realized the shittest failed and she has no power over me, so her attraction to me grows. That is why she gave me an IOI. I didn't reply immediately, because I was busy, so she sends me another email:

P.i.m.p.s Mailbag Volume 1

I occasionnally get questions by mail, and I decided to answer the interesting ones on my blog from now on, so other people can benefit from it as well. Here we go:

I was just reading your blog. It's a very interesting read.

I was wondering what the "hetero/homo opener" is? I live in New York City and
there's so many pick-up artists most of the good openers have already been worn
out!!!

I usually open sets with a teenage mutant ninja turtle pez dispenser, but I find
I often run out of pez halfway through the night.

Also, I might be visiting Hamburg in a couple of months. Is it worth it to learn
some German(I only speak English and Spanish)?

Or do most people speak some english?

Heey John,

I only use improvisation lately during my sets instead of routines, so I might aswell (finally) tell you guys the homo hetro opener. It goes like this(translated from dutch):

The Homo/Hetro opener

Hey guys, I need a female opinion.
I was just standing near the bar,
and suddenly I guy came up to me
and he asked me if he could order me a drink.
So I got a little worried,
Do you guys think I look hetro or gay?

This opener has never let me down. Allthough I advise you to only use it if you´re sure you don´t look gay, or it might backfire on you. ;-)

To answer your second question:
You won´t have to learn german, or any other language for that matter, if you come to Europe as long as you can speak english. Almost everybody speaks english as a second language, especially the youth. And if you come do come to Europe, don´t forget to drop by Amsterdam, because that´s where it is really happening.

Fear of The Approach

FR: P.i.m.p., Ceesss and Heisenberg go Amsterdam

I went to Amsterdam with Ceesss and Heisenberg last Saturday.
The first place we went to was Cooldown Café.
Before Ceesss and me could blink with our eyes Heisenberg had disappeared into a 2set.
Ceesss also opened a set after a few minutes. Even though they both opened 2sets and I could open their cockblock, I was to proud and wanted to open a set of my own.
I wanted to.., but I just couldn’t think of anything to say.
My mind went completely blank for about twenty minutes.

So there I was, walking to the club.
Some chicks were making I contact with me,
but this was all that I was thinking:
“I’m already standing here alone too long,
it’s to late too approach now.
I going to the other side of the club.”

In the meanwhile Heisenberg and Ceesss
were both involved in entirely different
sets than the ones they opened in the beginning,
and I still hadn’t opened a single girl.
The longer I waited the more fucked up I felt.
I needed some fresh air, so I said to my wings,
“I’ll be right back, I’m gonna get a burger.”

I went outside, feeling entirely stressed out and
got something to eat.
While I was sitting at the Burger King I was thinking:
“apparently this is just not my night. I´m leaving.”
I went back to meet Heissie and Ceesss in the club to tell them I was leaving.

But they wouldn’t let me. And looking back, I thank them.
Because had I left, I would have missed a lot.
Ceesss had picked up a girl while I was gone,
and when I told them I was leaving Heisenberg said to Ceesss:
“I’m going streetsarging with P.i.m.p.”
Ceesss was going to stay the night with the girl so he didn’t come with us.

When we got outside Heisenberg and me talked a lot about game.
“How could it be that my game is actually worse than six months ago?” I said to him.
Then, with the help of Heisenberg, it dawned on me:
six months ago my game was entirely improvisational.
I would open with anything,
and then based on her reaction I would decide on the spot what to say next.
But lately I was depending almost entirely on routines (homohetro-opener etc.).
By reciting the same routines over and over again gaming girls becomes incredibly repetitive and boring.
No wonder I had absolutely zero motivation lately to open girls!

So because of that realization (and a kick under the butt from Heisenberg) I
started opening girls improv-style immediately.
The sets I did weren’t exactly what you would call “smooth”,
but it was definitely a lot more fun than routine-based gaming,
and besides, because I wasn’t using any routines it was actually me who was gaming
and not somebody else.

From now on I will continue to work on my improv-game as much as possible,
because I still need a lot of improvement (as you can hear in my recordings below),
but I can feel I am definitely on the right track.

Special bonus for the Dutch: I recorded some sets with my voicerecorder,
and if I can find some time this weekend I will put them on my blog as mp3´s
later this weekend.

Some quick observations about my game

I have been relying to much on routines lately. I realized that when talking to Heisenberg last weekend. Relying too much on routines makes pickup surprisingly boring, and because of that I had almost zero motivation to open girls.

To overcome this I will work on my improvisational skills from now on.
I´ll just open with ´hi´ and then just go with whatever the fuck happens next.

I also catch myself talking way too fast when I get nervous, so the keywords for the next few weeks are IMPROVISE and RELAX.
